Help:Part of speech
A part of speech is the class of units used in the description of a language, e.g. noun, verb, adjective, adverb.
The part of speech functionality makes use of the Annotation functionality of OmegaWiki.
The way it works is that first it has to be determined what parts of speech exist for a language; not all languages have the same parts of speech. The identification is done by modifying the part of speech class attribute of the lexical item entry (a special DefinedMeaning used internally by OmegaWiki). Under the heading class attributes you will among other things find a DefinedMeaning used internally by OmegaWiki). Under the heading class attributes you will among other things find a Help:SynTrans level class attribute called part of speech (translated into your preferred language if such a translation has been entered).

This class attribute has a set of options, each option being a part of speech for a specified language. By clicking Options a long list containing all the entered PoS (currently for all languages) will be shown. On the bottom of this list are two text fields where a new part of speech expression can be associated with a language.
On the words themselves, you will then be able to add the information on the Syntrans level (see screenshot below, click on "word class").
This shows currently all the translations for the part of speech in any language. The list is limited to the values available for the parts of speech of the language of the word.
Below you can find an incomplete overview on parts of speech for the English language:
A more complete example can be observed on Part of speech/nld and Part of speech/deu.
